The Short-Haired Chihuahua: A Little Dog with a Big Heart

Origins and History:
The Shorthaired Chihuahua, one of the smallest dogs in the world, originated in Mexico. Its name comes from the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where it is believed to have been discovered. This breed is deeply rooted in Mexican culture and is often associated with Aztec and Mayan legends.

Physical characteristics :
Despite their small size, Chihuahuas have a sturdy bone structure. They have a characteristic apple-shaped head, large expressive eyes and erect ears. Their short coat is low maintenance, making them an ideal breed for those who prefer a companion that requires little grooming.

Temperament and Behavior:
Chihuahuas are known for their vivacious personalities and loyalty to their owners. They can be reserved around strangers, but they are extremely affectionate with their family. Their small size does not prevent them from having a bold and sometimes even reckless character.

Living conditions :
Their small size makes them ideally suited to apartment living, although they also appreciate a garden where they can explore. They need early socialization and training to avoid excessively territorial or fearful behavior.

Interview :
Short-haired Chihuahuas are relatively easy to care for. Their short coat requires regular brushing to remove dead hair. Special attention should be paid to their diet, as they are prone to obesity.
